Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson, K-State alumni from Manhattan, KS, heard Dan Patrick say on his syndicated sports talk show that he’d like to live in Manhattan — quickly clarifying New York, not Kansas! Nelson quickly followed up on-air to defend his hometown and to offer up an invitation to give his hometown another look.

Looking for fun in a more active setting? For a fun hike with spectacular views, check out Top of the World off of K-113. It’s not the highest point in town, but it’s a great place to let off steam, appreciate the nature around you, or practice your photography skills!
The Kaw
Bring your canoe or kayak and put in at the Blue River Access Ramp or the Manhattan Access Ramp and take a trip down the Kansas River. But remember, the Kaw is a big river and is not appropriate for novice and beginning paddlers.
